FutureLearn announces international expansion

FutureLearn today announces its first international partnerships with Australia’s Monash University and Ireland’s Trinity College Dublin. The University of Edinburgh also joins the list of top-ranking universities set to offer free, open online courses through FutureLearn.com.  FutureLearn’s first courses will come online later this year.

We do lots of in-house training for our 250 staff.
We would like to link up to have accredited courses cheaper than the traditional higher education courses we are forced to use.

So many massive open online courses (MOOCs) offer courses over several weeks, with a certain workload per week, in order for people to fit it into their busy schedules. While I think it’s a great idea, I frequently find myself frustrated – I don’t work regular hours and so I don’t know if I can commit to the same hours committed to a course every week for several months.

British Museum and four more universities join the FutureLearn revolution

The first free, open, online platform for courses from multiple UK universities and other leading organisations has announced a further five partners today, including the British Museum, Loughborough University, University of Sheffield, University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde.
The new partners are joining FutureLearn, which was launched in December 2012 and includes several universities as well as the British Library and the British Council.  Each is committed to providing engaging and entertaining courses through the online site.
